Getting started with AIMEE

Before you start

AIMEE is currently distributed through the approved tester package flow. GitHub sign-in verifies identity, but access is granted separately after review.

Keep media on a local or reliably mounted drive. AIMEE records library metadata locally and does not upload your media to L34D services.

Create the first library

Open Library, choose Add folder, and select the narrowest folder that contains the media you want indexed. Start with a small representative folder before adding a full archive.

The initial scan reads metadata and builds local previews. Moving or renaming source files while that scan is active can leave items waiting for the next reconciliation pass.

Report a problem

Include the AIMEE version, Windows version, exact action, expected result, actual result, and whether the issue repeats after restarting. Remove private paths, names, and media details from logs before sharing them.
